AfriKare is a hand-made skin, hair, and homecare range that makes all its products by hand to
create a labor-intensive project that will facilitate job creation in the Eastern Cape. AfriKare
products are made personally by the owner of the skincare range who holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Chemistry and Geography from Rhodes University.
We are an environmentally conscious brand, which uses minimal water throughout the entire
supply chain and has minimal waste. Our products are multifunctional and can be used for both
hair and skin because hair grows on the skin and what is good for hair must be good for the
skin.
Our homecare range consists of personalised Soy wax candles,soy wax candles are a popular
choice for many reasons. They are made from soybeans, which makes them a more
eco-friendly option compared to paraffin candles that are derived from petroleum. Soy wax
burns cleaner, producing less soot, and often has a longer burn time. It also has a lower melting
point, which can make for a more even burn.
In addition to their environmental benefits, soy wax candles tend to hold and throw fragrance
well, meaning they can fill a room with scent without needing to be too strong. They are also
typically easier to clean up if there are spills, as soy wax is water-soluble.
